Austrian
artist's extreme realist paintings on show in Cork
A SPECTACULAR
Exhibition which includes Irish Landscapes by the internationally renowned
Austrian Artist is cauring a stir at the Crawford Municipial Art Gallery
in Cork
Gottfried
Helnwein, who has exhibited all over the world, is showing a number of
large-scale photograph-like canvases depicting gorgeous European and American
lanscapes at the gallery until September 4
Helnwein,
who was born in 1948 and educated in post war Vienne divides his time
between Co Tippeary and Los Angeles in the United States.
His paintings
draw upon the beauty and drama of these contrasting environmetns as well
as revealing the parallels of different terrains.
His landscapes
were described as "gorgeous" and "pure delicous spectacle"
by the exhibitions officer at the Crawford, Dawn Williams..
